This scene shows us that even after Link learned that Zelda cannot return to human again, he was determined to bring her back and didn’t think about losing her forever. ![]() (And with her beautiful smile of course □) Link seems very determined to destroy Ganon for Zelda and he will.īut now we start thinking “what about finding Zelda?” I mean, because we actually found Zelda.Īnd we see the answer after this cut scene.įinding Zelda quest is finally completed after Link get true Zelda back. We know the quest logs are Link’s personal journal. “I must defeat Ganon for Zelda, by any means necessary.” So if I directly translate that sentence to Link’s thoughts, It is not like physically repaying something, It is more like heart to heart. 想いに応える(omoini kotaeru) means repay someone’s 想い. I must repay Princess Zelda’s 想い, by any means necessary. She deserves that kindness from herself, too. The difference now, is that she’s learning she doesn’t have to do all that at her own expense. Kindness, love, compassion, determination, hope. She exemplifies all of humanity’s best qualities. Ruby isn’t just bringing good into the world, she is the good in the world. Despite her pain, her trauma, her losses and the scars they left behind…her heart, her soul, remains uncorrupted.īut fear itself isn’t worthy of concern…it is who we become, while in it’s clutches. She has no contempt for the world, or for humanity. No matter how many times the world has knocked her down, she reaches out her hand and shows it kindness. But she doesn’t let these feelings turn her into a hateful person. She has every right to feel angry and betrayed, even, over what she’s gone through. Salem, I think, is an example not of what’s wrong with humanity, but of the way these feelings can take hold of you and turn you into something violent and devoid of love for the world. The Gods wronged her, the world wronged her, and she wants to make them hurt back. Salem was and is spiteful, corrupted by her own hatred and malice, thirsty for revenge. In fact, Ruby is…sort of like the exact opposite of Salem. She just… doesn’t have any desire to hurt people the way they’ve hurt her.īlake assigned her the word “Purity” for a reason. Don’t misunderstand, she doesn’t go around forgiving people no matter what they’ve done, she’s not naive. Ruby is not a particularly vengeful person. The way that Ruby didn’t even attack Neo or anything, just let her go. It’s the first time either of them can truly relate to someone and they find comfort in each other. And then get to know each other as just Zelda and Link. They bond through the shared fate to seal away the darkness. She asks why he doesn’t speak much and he trusts her enough to confide in her. Whereas she has struggled daily to access the sealing power.Īnd then she finally realizes Link’s own determination matches his own and his dedication is one she can relate to with her own life. And she can’t stand to think about how Link accomplished his goal as a mere preteen by being chosen by the sword. Not only can she not figure him out, because he won’t say anything, but she thinks he despises her. These are the reasons Zelda doesn’t like Link in the beginning. King Rhoam couldn’t understand and had to act as a King, causing Zelda to suffer even more. When she tries to expand her research in order to help in some other way, since her magic is stubbornly kept locked away, she is berated, constantly gossiped about, and is referred not as the Princess of Hyrule, but rather the ‘heir to a throne of nothing’. Her mother died before she could be taught and her father was not magical in any way, so all he could do was continue to order her to train. She’s been through SO much.įrom being the heir to the throne, her image tarnished by the fact that despite daily rigorous training, she is unable to access the sealing power that is her birthright. ![]()
